UX refers to User Experience whereas UI refers to user interface design. These two terms seems similar in words but they have a clearly different meaning. So today in this article we will discuss about this topic of what is the actual difference between UX and UI.

UI (User Interface)

So, User Interface totally refers to the physical appearance of any design. This totally comes under material designing such as typography, colour selection, designing of various components of the design such as buttons, title bar, sidebar, menu bar etc.This totally defines the appearance of a website or an app.

So now let’s take the example of this bottle. It has a very attractive user interface but can we say that it has a attractive User experience (UX). No, this bottle does not have a nice user experience and this is the thing we are going to discuss next in User experience UX.

UX (User Experience)

So, as in the above image we can see that the sauce bottle has a very nice user interface but we can also see that it has a not got a nice User Experience because you cannot take the sauce out of the bottle easily. This is because of the shape of the bottle.It is made in such a manner that the sauce will not come properly out of the bottle because of its tapering top. And because of this problem the company decided to make another bottle design and that has a very attractive User Interface as well as User Experience.

So now the company has made a bottle which has a broad top and also a broad end so that the sauce can come out of the bottle easily. So this is how the company changed the shape of the bottle and gave it a very attractive User Experience. So we can see that the User experience refers to how the consumer feels with the use of the product.
